CHANGE

HOW YOU GIVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD, INSHA’ALLAH

Our philosophy is simple: help people lift themselves out of poverty by advancing them small sums to start a business that provides for them and their families. Our Community Support Fund is the largest no-collateral and no-usury project in the world. Donate your Zakat or Sadaqah to create self-reliance for our beneficiaries for years to come.

£1.1B DISTRIBUTED TO 5.5M+ NEEDY FAMILIES

More than 60 million self-employed and unemployed in Pakistan struggle to earn enough. But with your Zakat and Sadaqah, Akhuwat’s Community Support Fund is changing that!

Akhuwat’s flagship initiative is based on Shariah and the principle of Mawakhat (brotherhood). Advances are given to worthy recipients who return this slowly, over time. No one makes a profit off their hard work but them.
These donations are continually recycled and used for the next borrower, making our Community Support Fund completely sustainable and long-lasting. Your Zakat and Sadaqah are used over and over again, earning you multiple rewards.

This approach – of helping people to help themselves is taken directly from the example of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) – and is the cornerstone of our philosophy here at Akhuwat.

EMPOWER FAMILIES

Liberation Lending

Help free people from unscrupulous lenders (Baniyas), who charge exorbitant interest and trap them into a life of never-ending repayments. We settle the outstanding debt (interest and all) that our borrowers repay without additional charges. Free a person from usurers and help them regain control of their lives.

PROVIDE FREEDOM

Agriculture Lending

We grant support to subsistence farmers and tenant farmers who work their landlords’ plots. These advances allow them to purchase equipment, seeds, and fertiliser to increase food production. Donate to help us support small farmers so they can feed themselves and their families independently.

EMPOWER FARMERS

Housing Lending

Many people lost homes in Pakistan’s 2022 floods and other emergencies. All they’d owned or saved was gone, overnight. Because they earn barely enough to live on, they can’t rebuild; nor can they save to. Through your donations, our Housing Community Support Fund assists worthy families rebuild and rehome safely.

REBUILD & REHOME

Widows & Orphans

Widows with young children have little support and struggle to care for their families. Many are unskilled and are forced to take low-paying, menial jobs if they can find work. We train needy widows, giving them vital skills to start businesses or find better jobs. Donate your Zakat and Sadah to give independence.

EMPOWER WIDOWS

Education Lending

We help worthy students whose families cannot afford to pay for their further education by funding tuition, books, uniforms, etc. Once qualified, they have better earning opportunities and can end the cycle of poverty. Give needy students the chance to upgrade their skills and make them more employable.

UNDERSTANDING QARD-E-HASNA

HOW IT WORKS

Support from Akhuwat enables someone to start or grow a business. As they create opportunities for themselves through their hard work, they improve their lives and local economies. And, when their advances are repaid, it creates opportunities for others as well. That ripple effect can shape the future of a family or an entire community.

Dr Amjad Saqib, Akhuwat Founder and Chairperson

TRANSFORMING LIVES

An Akhuwat Qard-e-Hasana not only enables someone to grow a business or create an opportunity for themselves but creates opportunities for others as well. That ripple effect can shape the future of a family or an entire community.
