Ramadan 2023

Give Differently this Ramadan

Your Zakat and Sadaqah this Ramadan can give dignity with a hand-up instead of a handout.

Support our Education Projects, Food Projects or Islamic Microfinance for widows and the disabled, to provide lasting, economic empowerment.

Give Qarz-e-Hasna

This Ramadan, your Zakat and Sadaqah can fund ‘beautiful loans’. Akhuwat’s Qarz-e-Hasna Scheme provides interest-free microfinance loans to widows and disabled people. It empowers them to gain livelihoods so that they can earn a sustainable living. Allah (SWT) promises a liberal reward increased manifold for those who give in charity.

Iftar Funds

This Ramadan, we’ve established a Ramadan Essential Food Project, to tackle the rise in food poverty across Pakistan. Inflation, food scarcity and the catastrophic floods last year have left many families facing hunger. Your Zakat and Sadaqah can provide food packs of essential items which can feed a family of five for the month, for just £60.

Fund Educational Projects

For Ramadan, put your Zakat and Sadaqah into powering education projects that tackle poverty in Pakistan, one student at a time. Through the Akhuwat Education Programme, we work to make education freely available for children and young people who can’t afford it.

Message from our Chairman Dr Amjad Saqib

What if your Zakat could save a family from poverty for good, and then keep on giving to others for years to come? Join Akhuwat this Ramadan.

This Ramadan, Akhuwat is tackling poverty on three fronts:

FOOD -£60 food pack for a family of five

We’re providing food for families facing extreme food poverty in Pakistan, following last year’s catastrophic floods and the rising inflation in food. Our Ramadan Food Packs can feed a family of five for the whole month so that fasting Muslims have Iftar and Suhoor to look forward to.

ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE - £90 sponsorship for a widow

We’re turning your Zakat into interest-free microloans for widows and disabled people, as part of our Qarz-e-Hasna scheme. The people we support use the loans to gain a sustainable livelihood, which lifts them out of poverty through their own hard work. Our borrowers only pay back what they’ve borrowed. No one makes a profit off their hard work, but them.

Education

We’re giving children and young people the opportunity to uplift themselves through education. Our education programme empowers girls, boys, men and women, with skills that make them employable. Funding Akhuwat’s Education Programmes is Sadaqah Jariyah.

Last Ten Nights

Grasp the unique opportunity in the last 10 days of Ramadan to intensify your devotion and express your love for Allah. Immerse yourself in countless acts of kindness, recite the Qur’an, engage in nightly prayers, donate generously to orphans, widows, homeless and victims of natural disasters through Akhuwat , and make dua.

For those who give in Charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold [to their credit], and they shall have [besides] a liberal reward. (Holy Qur’an 57:18)

Your Zakat and Sadaqah, this Ramadan, could give dignity with a hand-up, instead of a handout. Support Akhuwat projects with your Zakat or Sadaqah to empower people in need and help tackle poverty sustainably.
